Enjoy Eid Al - Adha
Eid Decorations
Eid Al-Adha, also known as the ‘Festival of Sacrifice’ starts on the 10th day of the month of Dhu al-Hijjah – the 12th and final month of the Islamic calendar. Celebrated by Muslims all over the world with friends and family, Eid Al Adha is a very special occasion.
This year Eid Al Adha will be called around 28th June.
Muslims sacrifice a goat, sheep, or a portion of a camel or cow. This is then divided into 3 portions. The family will keep a third, one third for the relatives and one third for the less fortunate. Making sure that there is food for everyone on their table.
Men, women and children dress in their finest attire and bestow gifts of new clothes, jewellery and perfume. Homes are decorated with fresh flowers and Eid decorations such as lanterns, fairy lights and crescent moons.
